Go 8 Bit 12 hour gaming marathon for Comic Relief

17th March 2017

The battle continues. Comic Relief and social video platform Twitch have partnered with Go 8 Bit, challenging 14 gamers to tag team a 12 hour gaming marathon. They’ll be taking each other on in the name of charity, to raise life-changing cash for issues like youth homelessness.

Building on the success of the GAMERAISERS week-long challenge in February, Comic Relief is joining forces with Dave’s popular gaming show, Dara O Briain’s Go 8 Bit, to host a 12 hour marathon challenge for celebrities including comedian Tim Vine, Radio 1’s Julia Hardy and Videogame Nation’s John Robertson. Steve McNeil and Sam Pamphilon, stars and team captains of Dara O Briain’s Go 8 Bit, will encourage gamers and celebrities alike to raise as much money as they can to help people living incredibly tough lives in the UK and across the world’s poorest communities.

Feeling inspired? Any gamer can get involved in GAMERAISERS by signing up to join the Comic Relief x Twitch campaign in the coming months. You can download a host of content for use on your channel and on social media, as well as get notifications of any unmissable future activity coming up.

This partnership is aiming to raise awareness of issues funded by Comic Relief, including youth homelessness. The number of people sleeping rough in England has risen by 55% since 2010, so it’s now more important than ever to raise the profile of this problem.
